  • Explain Instruction Cycle With Diagram (a) describe the function of the CPU as fetching and executing instructions stored in memory. ® diagram to show the fetch-execute cycle. They then compare. (b) The 8085 CPU is to execute an instruction which transfers data from memory (b) With the aid of a flow diagram, describe the fetch-execute cycle of ...
  • interface the processor to system components. • Two components make up the chipset: the Memory Controller Hub (MCH) and the I/O Controller Hub (ICH) • These components must be configured to be able to sustain an Operating System. • BIOS performs this configuration during boot • I prefer the diagram from the Desktop 4-
  • Figure 25 : Decoder circuit diagram. This processor has a slightly modified Fetch-Decode-Execute cycle. To save an adder (reduce hardware) i added an additional phase, it now has a Fetch-Decode-Execute-Increment cycle, the final phase incrementing the PC to the address of the next instruction (when needed). The picture above shows an adapter which allows you to plug a 20 pin power supply into a 24 pin motherboard. These do not solve the problems mentioned above. In fact, they usually make things worse. You still have only the same old 20 wires and pin&socket connectors that you would have if you plugged it directly into the motherboard.
